You don’t have to be a lawyer to know how to think like a lawyer; act like a lawyer; talk like a lawyer, or interact with lawyers. In fact, you could argue some of the best lawyers are the non-lawyers in our lives; those impassioned advocates who stand with stable-footed conviction behind causes.
Conversely, you don’t have to be a human to be a lawyer, so a critic may say. The same critic may say that an average lawyer has been so dehumanized that the rehumanization process is comparable to a rocket ship re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere. We’re not here to debate the efficacy of the critic’s viewpoint; only to acknowledge its existence. And that’s sad. What if you could change the worldview of lawyers one public perception at a time?
