How do you deal with people who always mispronounce your name, like me? It’s not Dan-Ay. It’s not Du-Neye. It’s also not Du-Nay. No, it’s Dan-Eye. Perhaps there’s not a better test of grace, humility, and humanity, than being forced to stomach people mispronouncing your name. Yes, it’s a small thing. Danae Woodward’s big thing professionally is employment law, mediation, collaborative law, and general advice and counsel for businesses. She is a board member on the North Carolina Civil Collaborative Lawyer Association and has been instrumental in the early success of Miles Mediation, a legal startup of sorts working to scale alternative dispute resolution as the primary means for resolving civil disputes.
She’s also a wife and a mother, and perhaps we have those misaligned. Maybe it’s wife, mother, lawyer. Not our call though. Let’s ask her.
