You can’t spell go-getter without Gwen Lewis. And you can feel her go-getting in a matter of minutes. Her smile is expansive; her laugh unhindered; and her energy unbridled. She pours herself into the North Carolina Bar Association, serving on the Board of Governors, the Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors, and chairing the Labor and Employment Section’s Pro Bono Committee. Her community work also includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy. Gwen makes her point clear: if there’s a cause that matters, she’s probably involved in it; and if not, she knows about it.
Before it was the topic du jour, and perhaps the world was a late on the come up, Gwen researched and assisted with the publication of a 2012 article titled, Leadership and Social Justice Lawyering. It’s been nearly 10 years since that publication, so what’s changed? (If anything.)
Last but not least, Gwen is a mother. As a mother, Gwen channels that same impassioned advocacy to ensure the best for her children. If she’s on your side, you’ve got a helluva teammate. Let’s discuss passion, energy, and love.
