From a white-shoe lawyer to helping a startup IPO; aka from a submarine to a rocketship: that’s Jason Idilbi’s professional life in a comparative sense. Two seemingly very different experiences; connected nevertheless. Jason’s current role as the Deputy General Counsel at AvidXchange marks, and his work helping Charlotte’s startup baby go public, marks the latest step in a journey of accomplishment.
Jason leverages the power and influence he has as an attorney at a company with a $2 billion valuation to make the world a better place. He chairs the Corporate Counsel Section at the Mecklenburg County Bar and hosts conversations focused on how in-house counsel can advance diversity within law firms. Jason believes his pedigree can be used as a fulcrum to open doors for others who may not enjoy the same pedigree.
Connecting the virtual dots, Jason appears to be the quiet disruptor. The person in high school who always got the highest grade but would go to all the parties. He can wear either hat, but the hat he seems to enjoy wearing most: respectful disruption. Did we nail it? Or not? Welcome to the human lawyer podcast, Jason.
