The Human Lawyer

The Human Lawyer Podcast: John Strohmeyer

June 14, 2022

Some people run marathons; others run 42 of them (and counting). Meet John Strohmeyer, a zookeeper turned estate planning attorney in Houston, Texas. Disclaimer: John wasn’t really a zookeeper, although he did earn a bachelor of science degree from UT-Austin in Zoology and went on to manage a human zoo at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin.

When John’s not running, he’s helping humans fill in the blanks on life’s difficult questions, such as: what happens to my [________] when [__________] happens? A board-certified estate planning and tax specialist, John is recognized consistently amongst his peers as a thought leader in his practice areas.

Looking back on his time as a keeper of humans at the Four Seasons, John recognizes the parallels with his work as lawyer, where he has one simple goal: to take better care of humans. In achieving his goal, what has John learned about humans when they try to answer life’s most difficult questions? Let’s talk about that and estate planning misconceptions. Welcome to the human lawyer podcast, John, the host of his own podcast, Five Star Counsel.
