The Human Lawyer

The Human Lawyer Podcast: Kelley Gondring

March 9, 2021

Kelley is a collaborative attorney in Winston-Salem, North Carolina who appreciates her privilege: that she never went to school hungry; never experienced abuse; always felts loved and perpetually supported. As a result, Kelley has always thought that if she just worked hard, she could be successful.

The roots of her belief in hard work can be traced to her grandparents, parents, and now husband. It’s amazing to observe the multiplicity of good habits and a good example. Her grandparents’ example literally set the stage. Kelley has, however, faced hurdles whether it was facing the challenge of leaving a toxic work environment or developing the courage to “strike out her own.” (Enter: Gondring Law.)

A variety of things keep Kelley human whether it’s her A Dash of Sweet blog, her elaborate dinner parties, or her love of running . . . fast. She claims that she wants (needs?) to break a 6-minute mile before she’s an old lady. Let’s talk about why those human things matter.

Amplifying human stories to explore how those stories inform people’s work as lawyers. Our mission: to expand the margin we have for other lawyers by focusing on that which makes us human to identify how the “human stuff” leads lawyers to a fulfilled career, whether in the law or something else.

the human lawyer is a 501(c)(3) north carolina non-profit corporation. it is not a law firm. it will never be a law firm. it does not offer legal services. it never will. the lawyers featured are completely independent and unaffiliated. they always will be. we focus exclusively on human storytelling through a variety of different mediums. if you are compelled to support: first, thank you; and second, all contributions are tax-deductible in furtherance of our charitable purpose.
