The Human Lawyer

The Human Lawyer Podcast: Kristen Gyolai

May 31, 2022

Kristen Gyolai is a lawyer in Minnesota who recently founded her own law firm, and through that experience, mentors others as they wade into starting their own. The lure of law is a lot easier with Kristin. To her, the best-kept secret in law is being a solo practitioner. Solo by choice as they say. And for Kristin, the failure is not in failing, it’s in not trying.

A believer in that creativity does, in fact, exist in the law, Kristin believes we miss opportunities by not celebrating circumstances bringing us together. Kristin wonders whether we’re losing too many attorneys, and so her law adjacent business is aptly called the lure of law: a place where she can build relationships and help others rediscover why practicing law isn’t so bad.

A proud mom, Kristin’s path as a solo lawyer has clarified and emphasized the things and people she values most. Let’s talk about those people and things, her love of the outdoors, and maybe her husband’s love for skateboarding.
