Head coach of Marvin Ridge’s middle school field hockey team, a lawyer, a CrossFit athlete, a competitor: that’s Lorraine Roussell. She’s been a real lawyer as society defines it in its traditional sense; not a lawyer; and now she’s back again. Cue Marshall Mathers.
Lorraine charted a path from New Jersey to Charlottesville to Winston-Salem back to New Jersey and then to Charlotte. Her journey, as a lawyer and human, has been informed by the value of competitive outlets, whether for herself or for others she touches. A consummate exhorter, Lorraine works to bring out the best in others. And when she feels like they’ve done their best, she lets them know.
In this episode, we’ll explore the possibility of life circumstances extinguishing one’s competitive spirit; the enriching value of competition; and Wahoowa.
