It’s Matts’s law: meet Matt Margolis, head of community at Lawtrades and a member of the blue check brigade. If not, he’s close. How’d he get his blue check? Here are a few examples:
- Lawyers are going to be replaced by computers? Computers can’t go golfing with a judge.
- Per my last email . . . if it was in your last email, why are you still writing me?
- Today went from a “Sincerely” to a “Regards” in record speed.
Matt showed up for me a few years ago on LinkedIn. He was a prolific poster on LinkedIn. He seemed so content; so settled; so comfortable in his current place. But now, we know maybe that wasn’t true? How do we know? Well, in his words: he was an associate attorney at a regional law firm, burnt out and frustrated. So he started yelling to a vacuum, i.e. posting on the internet. To his surprise, lawyers, law students, paralegals, legal assistants, legal ops professionals and others in the legal industry shared his frustrations. They shared experiences. So he kept posting: more jokes; more memes; more TikToks; more content; and more cowbell. Well maybe not the last thing. His voice led him to new places that had been seemingly inaccessible. So there is no bigger champion to community than Matt. Community has rebirthed him. And we’re here to share some of that story.
